Should the driving age be raised to 17?

Well I'm in Texas and the age to start driving is like 15 too, and i think that it shouldn't be raised to 17 because most teenagers have jobs around 15 or 16 and need transportation to their jobs and i think it would be better for them to just drive themselves instead of depending on their parents or guardian to take them. Also it'll help in being more independent. Just as long as their being responsible with it.
